Guess who's back... back again... guess who's back... guess who's back... guess whos back...
After a week or so concentrating on work and fantasy football I've decided to go back to my entertaining excerpts... for some. Been pretty busy... but just going to recap the weekend for now. Made some plans to go to Ba-Ba-Reeba for dinner w/Ren and his brother and some of their friends. Rens brothers b-day is the 18th... so they were celebrating that. After dinner went out to Rive Gauche... got pretty drunk and ended up leaving about 4. Saturday had a softball game at 11, glad we had a late game and not the 9:30 game. Played pretty good, turned I think 6 double plays in 7 innings we had a pretty good system down. After softball crashed on the couch and watched freakn' ND beat up on Michigan... damn them! Saturday night went out for a b-day dinner w/my mom and step-dad and my sister to Café Iberico. Yeah I know, tapas 2 nights in a row, but had some different stuff so it was pretty good. Crashed early Saturday night from the long Friday night. Sunday had the race for the cure at 8:30, ended up just walking that w/the fam and then went back to my sisters for lunch and then headed out to Harrys for the Bears game and a few Beers. So overall had a busy weekend, lots of driving. Fridays drive to the city took about 45 min longer than it should of, traffic was wicked bad. Wanna say thanks to Kerry for letting me stay at her place all weekend, cut down on the driving big time! Today got this award for my hard work on this Target CD that I created last week. Ended up pulling some overtime and getting it down in about 5 hours but they loved it, so yeah for me. Not much else really to speak of, Bears win another nail biter, baseball season is just about over, for those who still have any interest in that sport. Going to go pick up PS2 tonite after work, Al already has Madden 2003 so we gonna get one more game prolly, maybe this golf game that is supposed to be pretty good. Some new info since I have written, a new interest in my life... this chick from my softball team. Guess she has been flirting pretty hard with me, from what some people have told me and from I have picked up on. Not sure what is going to happen, but I'll be sure to keep everyone updated as events arise...
Guess that about does it for the weekend recap. 40 minutes left of work and off to pick up PS2... WHOOO HOOO!

9/6/2K2

Been pretty busy here at Aon lately, so that's why I haven't updated since Tuesday. However, this is going to be my last entry for awhile. Going to take a week or so off just to concentrate on work... hahahah ok sorry. Actually am going to take a few days off and maybe have more exciting stuff to add. If you still need to fill that 10 or so minutes a day by reading meaningless bull plop, check out Al's site... link below. So on that note I want to wish my sister a happy 27th b-day (its sunday the 8th) and till next time.. Later

What a great f'n weekend!!!! Started off playing a pretty good round at Silver Lakes South course, which included a 250+yard 2nd shot that landed on the green on the par 4 2nd. And then landing one on the green on the par 3 220 yard 9th hole. Saturday started off crappy by dropping 2 bills at the VW dealership to get my window and side mirror knob fixed''' but its all good now so can't complain. My baby is finally looking good again and working at 100%. After that headed out to meet up with the people I was going to the concert with. After about 2 hours of waiting for others we finally took off... late of course but on our way to see Dave, finally. Get to the campground and see this long as line to get our campsite shit! This is gonna suck... after waiting in line for a good hour, which included doin some pre-concert drinking and throwing around the football, which in doing so I hit 4 cars... my bad. Set up our tent and onto Alpine. Make it into the parking lot about 6 and fired up the grill. Do some tailgating and then into the concert we went. The place is packed... guess this is one of the better places to see an outside concert and it was. Get our seats on the lawn and proceed to drink our $7 beers. As the sun is setting, Dave makes his first appearance with an unbelievable version of Tripping Billies and then into Dont Drink the Water. The rest of the set list goes like this...Grey Street, What Would you Say, Grace is Gone, When the World Ends, Bartender (very nice!), The Stone, Fool to Think, Crush, Song that Sue Likes? (Never heard it before), Drive In Drive Out, Loving Wings, Where Are You Going, and then probably the high point of the concert (in more ways than one) they place an outstanding version of Bob Marleys Stir it Up, followed by Watchtower and then encore with Digging a Ditch and What You Are. When they played Stir it up the place went nuts, I dont even think it was planned... since we had made our way up pretty close by this point we could see the interaction between Dave and the rest of the band. After "Where Are You Going?" ended, the bassist (Stefon Lessard), starts just doin a little solo and you can make out the beginning of Stir It Up, Dave looks at him and says go with it and then turns to Carter, the drummer and says lets go... for the next 20 minutes the place was goin nuts. Gotta be the top moment ever at a Dave concert by far! After the concert ends, now by this time we have lost everyone at least twice, so as we are making our way back to the car there are 3 of us out of 5. Make it back to Petes' jeep and see that Hour and Bulla are passed out in the jeep. Pack everything up and head back... now this is where the real fun begins, since I am driving and trying to follow Pete, I am trying to stay behind him, but as traffic gets moving we lose him and to top it off they make us exit a different way out of the venue. So after about 10 minutes goin the opposite direction of where we were supposed to go, we get back to the site for a late night grilling and then off to sleep in the tent. After about 3 hours of sleep wake up with Pete outside the tent, he didnt sleep in the tent since he wanted to sleep under the stars. F that... mosquitoes up the ars... hello west Niles virus! Its about 7 am so we get everyone up and pack up camp and head home. Make it back to Palatine about 10 and crash for a good 4 hours. Rest of the day was spent recuperating. Sunday night hung out with a friend and had a really good time just havn a few beers and chilln. Monday went back to Orland for a BBQ and a Washers Tournament. Couldnt win the whole thing but carried my team to the finals... but I choked in the end. High point of the tourney was while we were playing in our first game, Ron is explaining the rules to someone and mentions "and if you get it on the edge you automatically win". 5 seconds later my toss lands on the edge... pretty sweet. After a couple burgers and some 'tato salad... I make it back home and call it a weekend. Pretty damn good overall I must say... so after that being said, back to work. Check out the pics page to see a couple from the concert aftermath...

Another early Friday morning with the sun rising over the horizon as a start to a new day begins... I will go on with my Friday ramblings...

- Stopped off at BK for a quick breakfast... nothing better than a croisanwhich from BK. Love those things!
- Going golfing again later on after work... gonna try to leave at 3 so I can make it back to the south side for a 4:43 tee-time. Should be no big deal.
- 5 hours and 53 minutes till the first casualty of the strike... I guess it looks optimistic, but it wouldn't surprise me if this strike happened.
- Northern Illinois opened the season with a big win last night over Wake Forest. Not your biggest football school in the country but a win... is a win when you are talking about NIU!
- Just over 3 hours till the strike deadline and I guess these greedy arsholes decided on a deal... yes I am happy. I love this sport and would hate to have had to give it up. So to all those players out there making league minimum... I applaud you and PLAY BALL!
- Have read a lot of others journals/web-sites lately and its all basically the same shit. Its kinda funny, always someone bitchn about something in their lives or makn fun of others. I guess that is what keeps us goin, seeing others problems or making fun of others. Hey, whatever works right?
- Check out the link at the bottom of this entry, its for this mini-golf game my best score was a 44.
- Seeing that today is the 30th of August I will do a quick rundown on this past month well actually nothing too exciting happened. Just read the entries form this month and you will see how boring my life really is.
- With baseball averting the strike my mind is still getting ready for the football season. Nothing like wakn up about 11 or so after a good night of drinking and just sittn' around all day watching some good football. Gotta love this time of the year... a cool crisp breeze in the air, the roar of football fans and the smell of the grill. Only thing that tops that is maybe the beginning of baseball season.
- Plans for this weekend basically all revolve around the Dave concert tomorrow. Gonna lay low tonite after golf, go get my window and side mirror knob fixed bright and early tomorrow and then its off to the concert. Sunday nothn planned yet and then Monday goin to Orland for a Labor Day BBQ. Should be a good 3-day weekend.
- Having two computers at my desk now I am getting good with my left hand using the mouse guess I am ambidextrous or whatever.
- Watched some of the MTv video music awards last night. Some of the highlights:
- What the hell was Brittany wearn I like it!
- But then they had to drag out Michael with his plastic face and the beginning of a gut. Not a pretty site.
- No great performances to speak of, at least what I saw. Eminem wasnt too bad but he has done a lot better before.
- Guess Gun n Roses closed the show ummm who really cares?
- Even the Ja Rule performance seemed a little week. Normally he puts on a great performance, and even with Naz ending Jas performance it still was week.
- Jimmy Fallon was pretty damn funny, opened with the standard imitating the most popular performers. Did a good job with a little Dave, Eminem and others. Even made fun of Enrique a little quality shit guess that is it from what I can remember.

Well I guess that is about it for now 2 hours left and then its off for golf whoo hoo! Have a good weekend and stay safe... Later

Mini-Golf

8/29/2K2 Before you read this make sure you have read the 28ths' entry...
Ok, now where did I leave off... oh thats right, small talk with the Dr.s daughter. So after some light conversation a room finally opens up and she tells me to follow her to the room, which I do happily. Get to the exam room and sit down the chair and wait now until the Dr. realizes I am here waiting. He comes in, do a little small talk, hows your eyes, hows work... finally he begins with the examination. Takes out my contacts and begin the cover your left, now your right, read this line, can you see the two screens. After about 10 minutes I begin to get a headache from all the lenses hes putting in front of my eyes. Finally he says ok time for a break a break, aint I done yet? Nope! More tests and then the 2nd funnest test there is, where he shines this bright ass yellow light in my eye. And then it comes... ok now lets go take your field vision test and the pressure test. I look him straight in the eye and say, could we take a pass on that one today? He agrees with a small chuckle and move onto the final tests. He mentions that I need a stronger left contact, no biggie and he tells me about how my old contact manufacturer has gone out of business. This could not be good can it? So he tells me I have to use a new brand, no biggie. So I go sit at the table where the worst 45 minutes in this office took plac...e put in my new contacts with the daughter watching and seeing if I know how to put them in... now without hesitation get both in... even surprised myself on that one. So after a final check to make sure they both are the right ones... I make my way up to the front desk to see how much damage this is all gonna cost. More small talk as we wait to see what the Dr. has to say about what kind of contacts I have to have now and how much they are gonna cost. Now this is the biggest surprise of the visit, as the small talk is going on the daughter is talking about school and whatever, so I ask "where do you go?" she replies "Lincolnway". Hold on a second... Lincolnway? Shit she still in high school... ok then... pay my bill and out the door. As I make my way out... I am saying to myself... high school... huh? Oh well

So there it is, my exciting story of my trip to the eye doctor. As for yesterday, stopped off at Jewel for a few things, picked up these new pasta things that were 2/$4. Pre-made shit that you dont even have to refrigerate... was suggested by my co-worker Theresa. Well see how those are next week... as for todays lunch... turkey with letti and tomato. NICE! Went running last night w/al, and actually didnt stop until we got back to Palatine road, which is a big surprise because normally we run this same route... I need to stop at least 2 times, but this time we ran it reverse so maybe that had something to do with it. Besides that just chilled last night and read some more of Harry-ass 3rd book and caught the end of American Idol, even though al is now boycotting it since the black girl got voted off, which I agree with, you will definitely see her again, even if its in some gay ass commercial. As for the two finalists, we have sideshow Bob look-alike and then the girl that changes looks at every camera angel. Still trying to figure out if she is hot or not... one minute she looks good and the next she looks kinda nappy. Not like it matters or anything, like Ill ever have a chance at saying, well she isnt that hot so Im not going to ask her out. Well guess thats it for now... back to work and the countdown to the end of baseball as we know it, which is at about26 hours and 42 minutes... Later

8/28/2K2
Doing this at the end of the day, so I apologize to those who normally check my site during the afternoon at work, but been wicked busy. Yes that is correct, I used the word wicked... was watching a little Harry-ass Potter last night and noticed they used it and also have heard the New Englanders use it. So I am going to try to bring it here to the Midwest. So instead of using the ghetto version "hella" I will now use "wicked". Well see how long that lasts. Today I am going to talk about my eye dr.s appointment that I had yesterday.
It all starts with me having to get up at 5:45 a.m. to get to work at 7 so I could leave at 3:30 and make it to Orland by 5:30 for the appt. Actually wasnt too bad getting up that early after the initial, what the hell am I doin up before 6 factor. Made it into work bout 7 after thinking traffic wouldnt be as bad as leaving at 7:30. Wrong! Traffic was wicked bad. More than normal... what the f'? After getting a sweet parking spot here at Aon, made it upstairs to start the day with the morning Internet surfing. But after about 15 minutes of that, had actual work to do cool, morning should fly by pretty quick. And it did, next thing I know its like 9 and everyone else starts rolling in. By 11 I am getting pretty hungry and bored, since I have been here 4 hours and surfed the Internet about 2 of them. Do some busy work till bout 12 and then lunch time...
By 2 I am now having pretty bad stomach aches from all the Reeses pieces I ate while reading Harry-ass Potter 3rd book. 90 minutes left... thats what gets me through the last part of the day. After wasting the last 20 minutes talkn w/Donna and Theresa, I bid my farewells and head into the 294 traffic. Actually wasnt too bad, but still more than Im used to. Make it back to Casa de Orland bout 4:45 or so just in time to do a quick change and chat a little with my mom and then take an expected phone call.
Head out down Bell road to the eye dr. and realize they have done a shit load of construction on these parts... new Wally-world, new Jewel and road repairs up the ars. Make it to the office about 5 minutes early hoping on a quick exam and out the door by 6. WRONG!... walk in and take a seat and sit there as two others get called up. Now during this time make some small talk with the Dr.s' daughter who is a receptionist/assistant. She remembers me cause when I first got my contacts she helped me and it took me like 45 minutes to get the first one in and also cause Im so damn hot... hahaha ok anyway.

This is where I am going to have to leave off for today... 4:40 and im outta here in 15. I'll finish in the morning...

8/26/2K2
What a nice 4-day weekend... started it off on Wednesday night by going to Harry's with Ken and some fellow fantasy participants. Nothing too exciting there besides a few beers and a couple games on. Thursday woke up to the pounding of rain on the windows and realizing that I was very happy to be in bed still. Looked over and saw I had a voicemail, fellow co-worker bitchn' about how traffic and the weather sucks and how I suck cause I am still in bed. Gotta love that shit! Ended up getting up and setting up my mac so I could do a couple things on the hard drive and also cancel my AOL. Later on went to the body shop to finally get my structural damage fixed. Sat there for like an hour or so just reading the paper. Think I read every story in sec 1 and the sports section. After that made it back to Orland for some afternoon IMing. After realizing golf wasnt happening, drove to the local Borders for some reading. Ended up sitting there for a good 2 hours just reading magazines. Very relaxing and the view wasnt too bad, a lot of fine ladies at the Orland Borders I must add, want to thank Jenny for the hook up on the Latte... good choice. After that just chilled at the casa de Orland and also went running. Friday went to get my haircut... 90% of the people in there getting a haircut or whatever where 65+ yr old women. After that went and played some golf... played ok nothing great. Had a yearning for a phat burrito so I drove to the local el famous and ordered a steak 'rito... nice! After I finished that off went and played my 2nd 9 holes of the day at Silver Lakes North course. Very nice course. After that got a confirmation of beer and Bears Football with some friends. After the game... wandered around the western burbs looking for bars... after we found a couple, closed those out and guess where we end up... f'n El Famous. Damn... two in one day... why the hell not. Ordered a phat chicken 'rito. Man Saturday morning was TUFF! Only good thing was softball was canceled, had planned on that since the rain the previous days soaked the fields. After making the call at about 7:50 went back to bed. Woke about 10 or so and began to watch Apocalypse Now. Wow is that an f'd up movie. Rest of the day was a blur except for a trip to Jewel. Sunday played another 9 holes down on the south burbs before my fantasy football draft. The draft was pretty good besides it starting about an hour late. But it ended about 9:30 so that aint too bad. Made the drive back to Palatine and just about crashed. Overall a decent weekend, pretty low key and cheap, except for the $125 for the football league. No big stories to write of, just someone pissn' me off again... but its kinda become old hat with that person, but it will be the last time... I hope. Later

8/21/2K2
Well another week is coming to an end, well at least for me. Got the next two days off... sweet! So since today is like a Friday for me I will amuse you all with some daily ramblings...

- Just got ditched for lunch today damnit. Actually wouldnt be pissed except I almost brought in my lunch today just in case this happened but didnt. Oh well, now I have to decide what I want... thinking maybe some taco hell or Mc. Ds.
- Well it came down to Moondoggies or Taco Hell. Moondoggies is your basic hamburger/hot dog/gyros type place but felt more like some good ol' nachos belgrande and a chalupa
- tummy not feel so good.
- Last night on the way home from work was about 4 or 5 cars from an accident in an intersection. Couldn't really see what happened but heard a crash and then saw smoke... got a halfway decent pic while driving past(below)
- 9 days and counting till I dont watch another MLB game for a very long time, that is unless these greedy asswoles fix all this shiat
- just got off the phone with the Collision Center and they still dont know if the part came in for my car, these people are pissn me off!!!!!!!
- For the second day in a row went to the batting cages w/al, getting ready for the opening day game this Saturday... feel like my swing is good but can always improve right.
- Plans for my long 4-day weekend include golf, softball and fantasy football draft. Not the most exciting weekend of my life, but Im sure more will come up and if not well I guess I will just sit home and prebate.
- Ah yes, here comes the afternoon boredom after a filling lunch
- "...Cuz I can be (cuz I can be)...Your fantasy... But you say I'm just a friend (say I'm just a friend)...But you say I'm just a friend (yeah)..."
- damn... dont even have a cubs afternoon game to bitch about so well just bitch about last nights game... even though they won... well it was 12 to 7 in the 7th I think... al comments, well that should be a good lead with Farnsworth goin in... hes good for like 3 runs... well he was right... 2 minutes later its 12 to 10... good job guys!
- Had some hot sauce from taco hell and now my garbage smells like it, think its time to try the ol switch-a-roo with Theresas garbage can... hehehe
- Whatever happened to Bush? Anyone know... Machinehead has to be one the best just all out rage songs ever... actually that whole album is
- Is it weird if a "friend" calls you at 11:15 at night just to talk... well what if something just happened and they need to talk to someone about it... is that still weird? I say yes!
- Ive said it before and I know Ill say it again... I hate some of my fellow co-workers!

Ok well I guess that is it for today got some work to do. Have a good weekend; I know I will have a great 4-day weekend!

In the words of John Maddenn... "BOOM!"

8/19/2K2
A dreary Monday morning... is there anything worse, well maybe a cold dreary Monday. Had a pretty good weekend. Did everything as expected and also went golfing. Friday headed out to the Goose Island fest ... good beer, good crowd and decent music. Only bad thing was it ended at 10 so we head over to Hunt Club... lame! Then to some bar in Lincoln Park where my sister knew one of the bartenders. Very nice... 5 beers and 2 shots for $5. Not too bad. After we drank all we could, we decided to grab some food... now after taking 2 different cabs and walking a decent distance I had no clue where we were. So as we begin to walk, we're trying to decide where to eat, I notice Café BA-Ba Reeba... oh shit Nookies Too is around here. Head over there and order an nice phat waffle... mmm syrup... that was the end of that night. Saturday pretty much just hung out in Palatine Palace and did some laundry and watched about 5 or so episodes of Road Rules. Saturday night headed to Wicker Park for a party w/Ken and some of his buddies. Pretty decent... lots of fantasy football/baseball talk and a keg that had a broken tap and some cards. Sunday went to lunch with the ex. Had a good time... talked about a lot of stuff. Realized we were both a lot happier now than we were together. Think we realized that we were holding each other back. If anything... realized what a healthy relationship is supposed to be. And of course was asked by more than one person "so you think you two will get back together?" My answer I doubt it, but anything is possible... right. We both are getting on with our lives and we will just have to wait and see. After that headed down to the south burbs for some golf... played shit-tay! Ended up with a 55 I think and that is with a birdie 2 but followed that up with a 13! Not good times! After that, just headed back up to Palatine, stopped at Wendys and watched some Little League World Series. While at Wendys however I had a little instance... as I pulled up to the window to pay I realized my wallet wasnt in my pocket... oh shit couldn't find it anywhere and had a real taste for a quarter pound double stack. Looked everywhere in my front and backseats but not wallet. My last place to look was my golf bag, since I just got done golfing. So as I pull up to the window the guy pops out and says $3.21, I tell him hold on one sec and open the door and pop my trunk... yep it was in my golf bag. So now Im standing at the window paying the guy felt like I was pulling the walk up to the drive up window nice!

Want to make a few comments about the LLWS... anyone that is sick of watching the major league cry babies and still have the love of baseball... like myself, you need to catch a couple of these games. Besides the unintentional comedy factor off the charts... its good ball. You got a bunch of 10 - 12 yr olds playing what they love and you can see that in almost every kid. I was watching a game on Saturday afternoon and the coach came out to talk to the pitcher cause he just loaded the bases with one out. The coach says "come on, just throw strikes and you can get out of this thing" and the kid responds "Im not getting any calls..." The coach looks at the kid and points behind him towards a camera and says "you see that... you just whined on national TV." High comedy my friends! Besides those priceless moments you got these kids representing Brooklyn and doin it right. This one kid loves Sosa... not a bad player to imitate. But the kid does everything... maybe a little too much but its cool for a 11 yr old from Brooklyn to be able to do this. Only bad thing was one time up to bat... he's up with the bases loaded and he points his bat out to center field, a la Babe Ruth. Next pitch hits the center field wall for a double... kid is pumped! Now this is ok in the little league but you try doing that in the majors and the next pitch is in your ear hole. But that is why you gotta love the Little League World Series... they dont care. They don't care someone just showed them up, they just love playn ball. So this week when you are flippn' and lookn' for something to watch and you see the only world series that will be played this year, take a couple of minutes and watch how baseball should be played. For the love of the game and not the love of the dolla...

One more thing... check out this link... high comedy at its highest! Just make sure you have speakers and they are turned down and no one is around... well at least no one you can get busted by... it's Smufet egtting her groove on...

later...

Highest of high comedy

Looks like another exciting day here at lovely Aon. Its 9 am and I am already board out of my mind and I got in at 8. So to keep myself entertained I will do a running daily ramblings until 1:30(when my fantasy football draft is) or I actually have work to do. So without further ado

- Why does cold pizza for breakfast always sound better than it actually is?
- Went running for the third time yesterday in the last 4 days and my legs were hurtn big time. But I did manage to get to a specific point in our run without stopping. But after that it was all over with
- Got a pretty busy weekend planned, well at least the evenings are set. Guess the days will be spent recovering from the night before if they go as planned.
- 15 days and counting till the DMB concert and camping extravaganza.
- Im pretty sure I have e-mailed most of my readers this site already, but if you have some time and are easily amused check it out can get addictive though. http://www.seethru.co.uk/zine/south_coast/helicopter_game.htm
- Damn actually got like 3 things to work on now well it only took about 2 and a half hours!
- Just in case you feel the need to do a good dead help the fight against Breast Cancer and donate I am running in the 5k Race For the Cure. Here is the link if you are interested in donating... http://www.doitsports.com/donations/view-pledges.tcl?txn=1232824&id=8114

- Ok after a barrage of work I am now back to nothing oh the joy of work on a Friday!

Ok well I guess that is it for now... onto my draft.

Race for the cure

8/13/2K2
After such a busy weekend and a busy beginning of this week decided to do a rambling update today...

- For some reason yesterday evening I suggested to run sprints up this hill near my current residence my body is not too happy with my idea yesterday. Good workout though
- Made my monthly trip to the local Target today on my lunch to pick up my supply of Velveeta Mac 'n Cheese. Yes I go to Target to buy my Mac 'n cheese, but the reason I do that is because its only a buck thirty nine for the good shit.
- Last couple of days been on some messed up emotional roller coaster but happy to say that I am on the high part of the coaster today... whoo hoo!
- Just to show how much driving I did this past weekend when I filled up Friday after work I reset the mileage and today when I filled up again I noticed it was at about 330 miles... damn!
- Listening to the cubs game now and they just said that this will be the 7th season in a row that they break the 2 million in attendance mark. That is a lot of fans for a really crappy ass team. But I guess more than half the people that go to the games are only going cause of Wrigley and not the Cubs. Oh well, would rather have Wrigley as my home park than that tin box they call Comiskey.
- Speaking of the shitty cubs just gave up 3 straight run scoring 2 out singles to the 8-9 and 1 hitter sickening.
- Kyle Farnsworth bobble head day Thursday!
- Made an appointment to finally get my structural damage fixed next Friday, finally my car will be back to normal of course that is after I go in on the 31st before the DMB concert and have them fix my window and side mirror knob.
- Why do we do things to ourselves knowing that in the long run it will hurt, even though at the current time it seems to be making us feel good? And this is true for so many things... guess this shows that some people would rather have the quick fix and not worry about the long-term affects.
- Rain delay at Wrigley no more unintentional comedy by Pat and Ron at least for a while. Guess its back to listening to my music on my computer
- I have two sets of headphones but for some reason I crawl under my desk to unplug and plug the one set in every time I go from using my radio to listening to my computer... sometimes I wonder about myself
- "...getting along very well without you in my life... I dont need you in my life... but Im doing just fine... time made me stronger... you're no longer on my mind... I dont need you anymore..."
- This past weekend Jason Priestly of 90210 fame was injured in a severe car accident while doing warm up laps at a race. Guess he got messed up pretty bad, was doing 180 mph and hit the wall straight on... daaaaamn!
- August is the slooooooowest time of year here at Aon I guess. Last year at this time it was this slow but I had only been around for 2 months or so I remember thinking damn this job better be more than this and it is but just not around this time of year.
- 3:30 and have done one revision o a chart that took about 10 minutes whoo hoo!

Ok I guess that is about it for today 45 minutes left and got a couple things to take care of. Later

All I have to say is if you havent seen Signs yet with Mel Gibson you need to. Flick moved to the top of my list for summer shows. Had enough story line to keep you interested and had a couple jump scenes. Damn aliens were messed up! Big ol freaky things with the big eyes. Would not want to go up against them... unless I had a baseball bat... oh shit just ruined the movie for those who havent seen it... or did I? Anyway, quality show... had a couple high comedy scenes... the director had a couple good scenes for himself. Don't want to ruin it for those who haven't seen it yet so I won't go into detail. But for those who haven't seen it be ready to jump a couple times and enjoy. Also happened to catch Goldmember Saturday night after watching the Bears take an ass whoopn'... but its only pre-season so who really cares, right? Goldmember was hella funny. Used a lot of the old jokes form the past two but came up with some new quality ones. Dont really see a 4th one in the near future but you never know. Some of the jokes are running thin but still high comedy. Gotta love the return of mini-me and then seeing a skinny fat bastard!
Besides catchn' a couple quality shows, did a lot of driving this weekend. Friday after work went and played some golf on the south side, drove back to Palatine and then out to Wicker Park to help celebrate Als b-day. It was actually kinda lame and he said the same. After the bar closed at 1:30 a couple of us were ready to party some more but the rest of the crowd were done for the night. So ended up just drivn' back and crashn'. Saturday was woken up at 11 by a phone call but got back at that person on Sunday by wakn' them up at about 10. Saturday was pretty much a wasted afternoon except for installing my new antenna and hitting Dominick's. Pretty exciting stuff! Sunday morning had the 12" softball play-off game. Like expected got bounced in the 1st round. Pretty disappointing day at the plate for myself. Went a week 0 -1 with a slow groundout to third which I almost beat out, guess my new love for running is helping out on the diamond. Played some solid defense out in the outfield but even Ichiro couldnt have helped us out there when the ball is traveling about 300+ feet and the fences are about 275.
Sunday afternoon helped out on some home improvement projects. Can put installing vertical blinds, installing stove hood and installing light fixture on my resume now. Vertical blinds pretty much did solo but the other two had some help on it. After that went and saw the before mentioned Signs and then headed home and called it a weekend. So overall was pretty busy and had a good time. Thanks to my step-bro for havn' people over Saturday night for the Bears game and servn' up some good grub, which included the instant heart-attack (chicken stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon) mmmmmm... bacon!

5:50 a.m., thats what time I was up this morning damn that is way too early. Only good thing is I came in at 7 and am outta here at 3:30 sweet! Actually goin golfing after work down on the south side. Hopefully I'll be awake for the 6:15 tee-time. Ive been at work now about 3 hours and have surfed the internet a few times, exported a few cds to my music player on my computer, did some bills and such and oh yeah actually had a couple changes to a graph, yeah actual work. But besides that it has been very very quiet here... not always a bad thing though.

Last night after work went for another run, went a different way then normal, this way had a lot more hills so it felt like I did more than other times. Feeling pretty good this morning... so that is a good thing. Was supposed to go out with Al for his birthday to grab some dinner but they ended up goin for Sushi, took a pass. Last time I went it really didn't agree with me too much so instead I just met up with them later and shot some stick. There is a place about 2 minutes down the street that is like $2.50 per person per hour, a lot better than goin to Dave & Busters and payn' like $15 an hour. I guess the tables and ambiance is a little better and they dont serve beer at this local place.

Not much planned this weekend, prolly wont get back till late tonite after golf so I think tonite is going to be a slow night not sure about tomorrow, plans are up in the air as of now. Sunday morning have our playoff game for the 12" softball league. Should be a quick game since we are playn' the best team of assholes in the playoffs. So it will probably last about 4 innings and then it will all be over. Got another 16" league starting in a couple weeks, so will have a week or two for the body to rest up for another season of banged up knees and such.

Guess that is about it no ramblings today, dont have really much to say. So have a good one and see you on Monday

Doin' an early update today just because. Got a few things to mention and that is about it. First off gotta wish a happy birthday to Al today. Hit the big quarter century... damn you gettn' old man! Secondly gotta mention that the simpsons 2nd season came out on DVD this past week... gotta make my treck out to BB on my lunch and grab a copy. I used to think that when people bought tv series on DVD it was weird... but I don't think that about the simpsons... but maybe that is just me. Thats really about it for now... if anything else exciting happens I'll do a mid day update but I doubt it. So until tomorrow... have a good one.

Gotta love this weather. Slept with my window open last night and had all my covers on this morning and did not want to get up, but thought better of it and figured after a couple hours in bed I would probably get bored. So needless to say I got up but had to wait a good 20 minutes to get in the shower, but I guess that is what living with a roommate is all about. A little different than livn' by yourself in a 2-bedroom apt. Ended up goin last night to see "Bad Company" w/Chris Rock and Anthony Hopkins. Actually not too bad of a movie. I would have to say that without Hopkins or Rock it would of bombed. Neither one of them could of handled it solo. Every time I saw Hopkins though all I kept thinking was him as Hannibal and I never saw any of those movies. He actually gave a couple looks like he did in Hannibal, once again this is from just seeing previews. ONly bad part of the movie experience was the theatre... but for a buck how can you argue. This time it was playing in one the smallest (I'll call it rooms) that I have ever seen a movie in. Abount the size of someones average sized backyard. Two rows of seats with about 6 seats in each row and about 15 or so rows. And because of this seats were hard to find, after we finally get ours I realize I am sitting behind this older couple that felt the need to sit as close together to each other as possible blocking the viewing area between them. And since I didn't want to block the people behind me or give up the empty in-between seat between me and Al, I basically only saw about 2/3 of the screen. There were a lot of great lines however since my memory is worse than a 100 yr old man I cant remember more than a couple of them. The best line was when they where settn' up Rock with all his gadgets before he went to go meet the Russian mob and they give him a watch, as they hand him the watch they say... "well this is for when the shit hits the fan", Rock responds with "what so I can tell what time it is when it hits the fan?" One of the guy points out there is a little red button on the watch and tells Rock to press it... an alarm goes off inside headquarters and Rock responds "Oh shit someone is stealing a sweater." Besides a couple good lines, you get to see Hopkins run through a crowd... dude looks like he is about to collapse, has to be 2nd on the all time funniest running scenes behind DeNiro and Pacino in the final scene in "Heat."
Personally, I Have been running the last couple of days, not exactly sure why I am starting to run but I guess Ill go with it until I can't walk or I am actually in shape... my bet is on not being able to walk. Since after I run for about a mile or two my calves feel like they are going to explode and my shins feel like they have someone driving nails in them... but other than that I feel great! Actually its not all that bad probably one of the better workouts you can do. I think back at when I ran in the Race for the Cure and I did the 5K... damn how did I do that. I have a hard time running more than 2 miles now guess when you dont have the option to stop you dont.
Guess that about it for now, just trying to digest my double stuffed ravioli from Portillos from lunch... mmmmm double stuffed!
One more thing, trying to think of a team name for my fantasy football team name, if anyone has any ideas please e-mail them to: davidz_77@hotmail.com and maybe I'll give something away if I pick yours, well prolly not... except for my all out praise!

Another weekend flies by... actually had a pretty busy weekend even though on Friday I said I was just going to lay low. Friday after work pretty much just unpacked a little and went and got some free Chili's. Had to spend the night at my sisters' so I could let out Hershey, since she was not 100% after going to the hospital. Good news though... I guess... she's got something called gastriutus... does not sound like fun. But anyway, saturday headed out to Joliet w/Ren to this Volkswagen car show thing... pretty lame for the way it was talked up. Got to see some nice looking cars and some ideas for my own. Highlight of the day was stopping for lunch at Hooters... nice! Saturday evening went out to watch the pre-season football game w/ken and some of his buddies. Nothing too exciting... except for one moment... guess they were having a bachelor party in one of the back rooms and the owner, who we call Fat Tony(from the simpsons) comes walking out and has a handekerchief in his hand and begins to wipe his brow as he is walking back to the bar... high comedy moment. Sunday went out to Arlington for a couple races, way too hot to be sitting out in the sun all day. On the day lost a buck or two, so not a bad day. After that stopped at Ikea to pick up some more hangers and walk around there awhile, damn that place was packed. Grabbed some lunch/dinner and then just watched some simpsons. Had a good day for not really having anything really planned... actually that about sums up the whole weekend.

Friday is upon us again so that means a random thought day, but before I begin my ramblings I wanted to say something about the cubs game yesterday that I attended. The main point of going to the game was to get the Sammy Sosa Celebriduck so of course got to the park about 11:30 and got hooked up. Coulda left after that but decided to catch a couple innings. Cubbies ended up blowing a lead, taking it back and then winning in the bottom of the 9th sweet! Only bad thing is we left in the 8th inning. Oh well, missed a little Wrigley excitement, but made it home by 5:30 so that was a positive I guess. So onto the ramblings

- Just had the last night of sleeping on the floor. Actually it hasnt been too bad except for the morning serenades
- My dept. moved this week for the 3rd time since Ive been here, I guess it could be worse, could be moving out of the building with a pink slip
- Ive been at work now 4 hours and haven't done a damn thing except e-mail and check the internet and I actually have work to do but our damn server is not working, due to the move
- This past week I have actually gone running after work only done about a mile or so each day but in this damn heat my out of shape ass cant handle much more than that
- On the way home from the game last night realized how close I am to Arlington Race Track... not sure if that is a good thing or not. Might make a trip out there this weekend.
- I really dont know what I would do all day if I couldnt e-mail outside of work and surf the internet prolly go insane
- Put my Itunes or random this afternoon got some Charley Brown Christmas going nice!
- Started noticing the back-to-school commercials on TV and radio recently. Damn I remember hating this time of year, you still had a couple weeks of summer vacation left but you knew your time was running short, but now its like who the F' cares?
- No big plans this weekend, no softball (bye-week) might just hang out in Palatine and get my room set up and just lay low... yeah right
We interrupt your regularly scheduled ramblings with a breaking story... just got a call from my sister and she has been having really bad stomach pains, went to the doctor yesterday and he doesnt know what it is could be an ulcer. Damn 26 and have an ulcer! Just a little wake up call for all of us that eat greasy ass food and go out drinkn every weekendour stomachs aint made for that shit...
We now return to our regularly scheduled ramblings

- Still no word on our damn server 2 hours to go till the end of the day and havent done shit!
- Whoo hoo actual work that doesnt require me to use our server

Ok since I have work to do I am going to end this now. Everyone have a good weekend and play safe... later

Not much going on, for todays update I broke down what I think Dave Matthews is talking about in "Grace is Gone".

Grace is Gone...

Stage 1 of the move is done with. Had some good help on Friday and Saturday that I definitely needed. Friday was a long day, started off early moving some miscellanei crap to my moms in my grandparents suburban... damn that thing is huge! Didnt take as long as expected so that was a bonus. Made it back to Evanston early afternoon to finish up the packing and tie up some loose ends. Got rid of most of the furniture Friday evening and by Saturday morning it was gone, so I guess someone thought my couch, recliner, tables and desk were still in good condition which they were but I just didnt have any use for them or anywhere to store them. Saturday was also a long ass day; rain and high humidity did not help. Loaded everything up with about 10 minutes to spare before the walk-through, think everything looked good. Made to Palatine by 11 and unloaded everything and then back to Evanston to return the truck. After a couple hours of figuring out what needed to stay in the garage and what needed to come up pretty much just relaxed the rest of the day. Went out for some pizza and a couple beers and just had a good relaxing evening. Sunday had our regular season finale in 12" softball and we actually won both games. Had a pretty good game at the plate, went something like 10 - 12 on the day with a couple RBI and runs scored. And of course opened up my knee again, and the sad part was it was all for naught. In the first game we were up by 10 runs in the bottom of the 4th and we needed 2 runs to get the slaughter rule. So I'm up with guys on 2nd and 3rd... ok big moment, game winning hit? Hit a shot into short left field down the line, 2 runs are in, make it to 2nd base and kinda just wonder off the base thinking game was over... well I turn around and they are throwing it to 2nd to try to get me out, my baseball instincts tell me to get back to 2nd anyway I can, so I dive back into 2nd safely... I must add, but in doing so scrape up my knee. I turn to the ump and he looks at me like what the hell are you doing, as he calls out, game over, slaughter rule... F!!!!!! Oh well, coulda been worse I guess. 2nd game we also won but had to play all 7 innings and won by a score of 11 to 20. We made the playoffs whoo hoo!
After a few mid-day beers and a couple rounds of Golden Tee made it back to Palatine to straighten out my stuff and get some laundry done. Had the place to myself till about 8:30 when Mark and Al start rolling in. Al walks around the place and all I kept hearing is "oh shit." I think he was surprised by how much shit I actually had... should be good once we get everything situated. High comedy of the evening... weird situation with Al and I sharing a room till Friday when his current roommate Mark moves... out so I have my mattress on his floor. Go to bed last night and I guess he normally closes his door, so Im laying on my mattress thinking, ok is he gonna shut the door or what? About 2 seconds later I hear him start cracking up as he is thinking the same thing standing next to the door. We decide that for some reason the door should be left open a little not sure why, but we both agreed with it and left it at that.
Overall had a pretty busy 3 day weekend with the move and lots lots of driving. Took some pics of the Evanston apt. during the packing process see on the pics page.

First off want to wish my grandfather a happy 75th birthday! Going to do my last update of the week today since I will be out of the office tomorrow and will be without Internet access except for work. Not sure how I will survive but I guess I will. Thinking back about this damn Internet thing, its been a long time since I have been without access at home. Think I first started with AOL back in like '96 when I got my first computer. That is when the instant messaging crap was new. Now it seems like everyone has one, either through AOL or another service. Today someone was asking me the standards for messaging. I know that most people know it by now but I am going to share some of my knowledge on this subject. So we are going to call is "Messaging for Dumbass's" or "Top 11 rules of Messaging"

- First and foremost before chatting in AOL always set up your profile! Even if its as basic as your name and location. For some reason people always get pissed if they check out your profile and nothing is there, its almost like you are hiding who you are if you dont set up a profile. And this is also a good way to find out some crap about people by looking to see what they wrote there.

- Always start off with "ASL" Which means Age, Sex, Location there is however another version of this, which is "ASLP". The P stands for Pic. This is generally used to see if the person you are talking or chatting with actually looks like who they are.

- In asking for a pic, either by saying aslp or just asking, do you have a pic? if that person says yes, never say for them to send first. Basic etiquette is whoever asks first sends first.

- If you get asked if you have a pic and you do, make sure you ask back if they have a pic. If they reply back yes, you can always use the S2R, which basically means, send to receive.

- Before sending the pic make sure of the other persons e-mail address if you are first sending, because some people have a different address than their screen name.

- Another etiquette problem is someone messages you and says ASL, never reply back with the same ASL without giving your info first. And if someone gives that back to you after asking ASL more than likely they are probably going to lie just to conform to what you say.

- When sending and receiving pics it is easy to send a pic of someone else off the Internet. A way to check if the pic is real is to double click on it from your e-mail and open it to see what the file is called. If its name is a long # more than likely its an Internet pic. Most people name their pics I know I do.

- And for all you freaky people out there sending nudey pics just remember that it is illegal in Illinois to send porn to anyone under 17.

- When chatting with someone and nature calls or something else draws you away, make sure you say something to the other person, because more than likely they will think you are just ignoring them and they will get pissed. So a simple, one sec Ill be right back could save a lot of crap from the other person.

- But this also has a flip side, when you are on the other side and someone doesnt reply for a couple minutes dont get all excited because either they have to use the crapper or they just dont want to chat with you anymore... LOSER!

- And this brings up another problem, what do you do when you find someone boring and you dont want to chat with them anymore. You can either just ignore them, which is kinda lame or just say that you dont feel like chatting anymore. But never use the, Ok I am signing off but you really dont. You can check to see if someone is on-line and if that person you are talking to checks that, you are pretty much caught in a lie.

Ok I think this really shows what kind of lame life I lead oh well.

Now for some random ramblings

- I have moved now twice in the last year and I think my crap has multiplied since last time.

- Last chance for a sleeper sofa and a matching recliner they will be in my back alley sometime late tomorrow. Tried getting Salvation Army to come get it they said it would be at least a week before they could get a truck out. Damn I aint charging for it, Im donating this shit.

Ok I guess I really dont have too many thoughts going on now. So this is it for now, might have more later so check back this afternoon for possibly more random shit.

Later

After looking all over my driver side floor of my car for that stupid knob for my side mirror adjuster... today as I am getting out of my car at work, I glance down at the pavement a couple spots over and notice a black knob. Now my first thought is, no that couldnt be could it. So I casually walk over and pick it up... damn it is my missing knob! Now what are the chances I would find it? Pretty damn low if you ask me. Only shitty part of the whole thing is, having the knob is pretty meaningless since it snapped off and I need to replace the whole part. But just to find that piece is like a small personal victory... ok maybe not. Still gonna cost me like $85 to fix. Damn this sucks! Photo below of what it looks like now.

Found out yesterday that Im going to the Dave Matthews Band Concert August 31st at Alpine Valley. Had to buy an obstructed view ticket but going to sit in the lawn so it doesnt really matter where my seat is supposed to be. Should be a good time, goin with some of Kens' friends who are big Dave fans and then I guess we are going to just camp out at some camp ground after the concert. Should be a hella good time! Ken however wont be joining us since he is the most Anti-Dave person I have ever met, well maybe except for Kevin. Not exactly sure why, but I guess that is why there are so many types of music, everyone has there own opinion. But the thing is Ken hates them and I stress Hate! On Saturday on the way to the city I made him listen to a little "Bartender" and "Grace is Gone" and his comment was, so are you going to play some gansta rap next? I almost made him get out of the car after that comment, but instead I played him some Ja-Rule since he requested it.

Moving day is getting closer and I have one box packed up, guess I should get that done tonite since Friday is day one of the move. Actually have some sort of plan for after Saturday and beyond. Al has been doin a lot of research on places and we both like this place north of my work on Milwaukee near Northbrook. Guess it's only 6 years old and pretty nice. Dont really have to make a decision for a while since we cant sign a lease until he sells his place, but I think that place is at the top of our list. Guess that is about it for now time for my PB & J......MMMMMMM!

7/22/2K2
Well today actually started off pretty good for a Monday. Found out that I would only have to be sharing a room for less than a week, bonus! But soon after lunch we started experiencing power surges, for one, they are every annoying since they crash your computer every time. But besides that, all my connections to the outside world on both computers are disconnected for some reason. So I am pretty much cut off from anything that isnt already on my computer, which is just about nothing. So in short I cannot do any work and I cannot access the internet. Ahhhhh!!!!!!!!!! So instead of working I will be doing a rundown on "The Day Without Internet Access!"

1:45 pm 2nd power surge occurs knocks out all connections.

1:50 pm Report to IT people and begin the waiting game ...the way they get around to things I should have my connection back by ummm lets say next week.

2:10 pm Switch over to Mac OS X to mess around a little and play some computer chess.

2:12 pm Get my ass kicked by the computer and switch back over to Mac OS 9 for some solitaire

2:15 pm Win my first game of solitaire whoo hooo!!!!

2:20 pm Try getting on the internet for the 20th time in the last 2 minutes just hoping it somehow is still connected

2:21 pm No luck, reread my latest issue of MacWorld

2:30 pm Realize my computer kicks ass after seeing how much all this shit cost.

2:40 pm Refill my water bottle and take a walk around the floor damn I think the AC is off, damn this sucks!

2:53 pm Damn just realized the cubs have an afternoon game that Im missing F!!!!!!

2:54 pm Remember that Theresa has a radio lets see if I can borrow and get to listen to the cubbies

2:58 pm Whoo hoo ...the cubbies are on the air!

2:59 pm Pat and Ron inform me that the cubs are up 2 right now but where up 5 - 0, but Wood has fallen apart the last inning. Top of the 6th.

3:02 pm Wood gets out of the inning, damn I guess they had scored all 3 runs with no outs and still had guys on 1st and 2nd but Wood got the next 3 guys out. Hey I wonder if anyone noticed if I took a nap the only people that are near me are Theresa and ummm well that is about it. The two offices near me are empty today since the two big wigs had more important things to do today I guess.

3:04 pm Pat tells us that Kevin Butler is now in the booth to sing the 7th inning stretch ...why do they still do this crap? Damn Kevin is turning 40 this year ...he old!

3:05 pm Ok going to try to take a quick nap

3:08 pm No nap but I think I might of dosed off a little, Hundley and Gonzalez somehow got on base, now Dewhino is pinch-hitting for K Dub.

3:12 pm Ron asks Butler what he is doing now, Butler says since he wasnt a QB or WR he has to work now that is crap, obviously he spent his money like a dumbass!

3:15 pm Dewhino takes a walk to load the bases for Bellhorn

3:17 pm Bellhorn swings at a 3-2 pitch and pops out to the 3rd basemandaaaaaaamn!!!!!

3:20 pm Finally the connections are back up

Ok now that that is done with onto the weekend update... Friday after work went and looked at some possible options for my next residency. Made it back to Evanston about 8 and grabbed some buffalo joes... nice! Saturday went tot the body shop to get the estimate on my damage, it was about what I had expected. Ended up goin to the city w/Ken, bad move. Met up with some of his friends who had been drinking for awhile, so needless to say they were pretty drunk. Not good times! Made it home about 4 and crashed till 10 for softball. Played only about 4 innings of the 2nd game because my step-bro got nailed in the nuts with a line-drive OUCH!!!! Talked to him today and I guess the boys are doin better. On a personal note, had a good day at the plate going. First at bat had a pure hustle inside the park homerun that ended with me sliding under a tag at home... nice! After softball headed to Warsaw Inn for a birthday lunch for my grandpa ...mmm polish sausage! After filling my gut made it up to Evanston and sat and watched about 2 hours of the Simpsons, a nice ending to a decent weekend. One more side note cubbies win in the 9th off of a Fred McGriff single. SWEEEEET!

Yet another week has passed by so onto the Friday ramblings

- Have been listening to the new Dave Matthews CD this week after obtaining a copy from a co-worker. If you havent listened to it yet and you are a Dave fan, I urge you to get a copy or contact me and I can get you one.
- Move date is one week and counting and still dont know where I will be laying my head after next Saturday
- Going to the body shop to see how much my structural damage is going to cost me tomorrow, hopefully not too much.
-"... I could never love again so much as I love you, where you end, where I begin is like a river running through... Take my heart, take my eyes I need them no more, if never again they fall upon the one I so adore..."
- Could possibly have a new #1 DMB song overtaking Satellite. And that song would be Grace is Gone. Damn this CD is one of the best CDs I have heard in a long time. One of those you can put on the list of CDs you could play all the way through very nice!
- I know I have stated this before but it is so damn annoying why do certain people feel the need to broadcast there entire life to everyone. Now I understand while at work you should have conversation, but to be talking all day long about anything and everything at a volume where you could hear with headphones on ughhhh!!!!!
- Have now hit the afternoon boredom...not good times!
- Had a healthy chicken ceaser salad for lunch and dont feel like going to sleep, damn its so much better to eat a good lunch but of course a nice fat gyros like Wednesday always tastes better.
- Just a reminder 2 months till my b-day, which is sept 17th for those who dont have it marked on there calendars
- Cubbies are 5 2 since the all-star break, no they arent going to be winning the division or anything but at least the effort seems to be there.
- 7 weeks till football season starts cant wait to see if the Bears will defend what they did last year or roll over like everyone expects
- Ok now she is going on about how her husband never gets dressed up and doesnt wear ties WHO THE F CARES!!!!!!!!!!!!
- now the subject is how her cable in her new house is working whoop 'd freakn doo!
- Silence has fallen over the 3rd floor ahhh so nice!
- Afternoon sugar fix, decided to go with the Pay Day, not sure why but passed on the Reese's cups and a snickers... not a abd call but now I know why I haven't had one f these in awhile, why don't they just sell a bag of salt and be done!

Ok well I guess that is it for this week. Have a safe weekend and see you all on Monday... later

7/16/2K2
Added some new pics from this past weekend in the pictures/Kevins Cabin section. Not much else going on, busy at work and cubs have won 4 in a row... whoo hoo!

7/15/2K2
Back in one piece after this weekend up at the dells!!!
Not that we really did anything that would have prevented me from coming back that way, but you never know. It actually was a pretty tame weekend. Its started off with Jeremy, Ren and myself heading up there without Ken and Kevin because Ken had to work till 7:30 and a solo drive up to the cabin was out of the question. So we roll up there about 10 or so and pick up some beer, make our way into the cabin and first thing we do... crack open a beer and play some Techmo Bowl '91 nice! Kevin and Ken roll in about 11:30 and decide we should hit up Marleys. Actually get lucky and land a table after we spot some guys leaving. Have a couple beers and decided to head on out, call the cab but its like a 30-minute wait. Decide to make the walk back... not a bad idea but not the best way to get home. HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEKEND: For some reason Ken and Kevin decide to do wind sprints back, so its Jeremy, Ren and myself walking back. We make it to the final turn as we are passing a hotel pool, Ren hears some voices so he gets a closer look ..."Oh shit I didnt know this was a nude pool?" That was the best thing you could come up with Ren? So after that statement, J and I make a beeline to the pool to get a better look. Sho nuff, two butt ass naked people in the pool. Luckily the girl was in the shallow end...
After we make a quick conversation we make our way back to share our stories with Ken and Kevin, and of course they dont believe us, but you know what the 3 of us know what we saw, and it was good! Make our way down to the water and do our campfire and have a few more drinks. Crash about 4 or so, Ken decides that we should go to breakfast at 6. So he stays up until 6 and tries waking up Kevin, but like he should of expected no one else got up. We end up getting up about 11 or so and make it to Dennys for a quick bite. Head back to the cabin for some lake swimming and more Nintendo. As we are on our way back someone points out that there is a Ponderosa and suggest that we go there for dinner. So after a nap and more Nintendo we roll over to Ponderosa for some steak and buffet. Bad idea... think every White T in the dells was there. There was actually a guy in there without a shirt on... not good times!
Head back to the cabin for more Nintendo and a few pre-bar drinks. Head out to Marleys again and get a table. After about an hour or so we decide to go to Brothers In Law, bad idea. As we are crossing the street we see about 20 to 30 African Americans standing outside, now normally no big deal, except we were the only 5 white people getting in line... after about 3 sec we turn back around to Marleys. This wouldn't have been a big deal except now we lost our table and it was a lot more crowded at Marleys. After a few drinks we make it back to the cabin for more drinks and campfire.
So overall it was a good weekend but nothing special except the first time all 5 of us made the trip. So always a good time up at the Dells.

Sunday after I made it back took about a 15 min. shower, something about taking that first shower after a long road trip that just feels so good. Ended up having dinner with a friend last night and just watching a movie, pretty good end to a good weekend...

Pics will be added later on today

Friday morning, reason I am doing such an early update today is I am freakn bored as hell and I have only been here 45 minutes. For some reason Fridays always seem like there is nothing going on and just drag on soooooo much. I really don't have a whole lot to write about but just wanted to do the Friday ramblings...

- 2nd half of the baseball season started yesterday, if it wasn't for fantasy baseball I dont think I would give two shits!

- Why do parents feel that if their lives are messed up and ruined that they have to ruin their childs life also. Why cant they just let the child live their life and not burden them?

- "...like a clown... I put on a show painted real, even if nobody knows, Im cryn inside and nobody knows it but me..."

- 7 hours 41 minutes till the weekend begins

- Been at work for 50 minutes and have interacted with one person, going to try to keep that number under 3 all day just to see if I can do it, if for no other reason just to entertain myself.

- Do people intentionally talk loud on the phone to let everyone know there lives, but what if their life is boring but they think its so freakn exciting they have to let everyone know what happens all the time and I mean all the time!

- Yes I do hate some of the people I work with, and when I say hate I mean HATE!!!!!!!

- There are times I have my headphones on without any music on just so I dont have to interact with certain people, sad but true.

- Interaction with person #2 just happened, damn still have over 7 hours to go and can only interact with one other person I feel a challenge coming on...

- Sometimes things happen to people that you cannot understand and you question why it has happened, either bad or good. But I am a true believer that everything happens for one reason or another, like sometimes people are put through a lot of crap in their lives just to make them stronger as a person to push them farther. But then there are people that really dont have too much crap to deal with, I believe when that happens its because those people either one are very, very lucky or just predestined that they are not strong enough to deal with hard shit.

- Damn another phone call actually have work to do now but that was #3. Guess my under 3 theory is out the door.

- Ok that took a whole 15 minutes to recreate a damn logo, guess that will be my workload for today.

- Most productive thing so far today downloaded a radio player on my PC whoo hoo! Ever since damn audiogalaxy crapped out I have been listening to the same damn 35 downloaded songs getting old!

- 6 hours and 45 minutes to go

- Have to call the body shop to go see how much "structural damage" I did to my baby while trying to imitate a police chase... not good times!

- Had a phone call with my landlord yesterday that just made me wonder how this woman is running a business, think she is really messed up, I think at one point she confused herself she actually paused in mid-sentence to re-evaluate what she was trying to say to me.

- 3 words "Journey" Separate Ways!

- "...I am no hero thats for sure, but I do know one thing, where you are is where I want to be... are you looking for answers to questions under stars..."

Ok think that is about it for now have a good weekend and hopefully will have some good stories on Monday, have a great weekend and stay safe!

.39 Cheeseburger day at Mc. D's today. Anything better than ordering 5 cheeseburgers (thats the limit) and a medium fries and only spend 2.68? Not a bad lunch if you ask me. Why do they oly let you get 5... why do they have a limit? Would you actually order more than 5? I even have a hard time finishing the first 5. Actually this time had 2 left over. After finishing the 3rd one had a big decision, do I eat the last 2, can I eat the last 2 and still be able to work today? Probably not, so instead of just leaving one, don't know why but always have a hard time leaving just one burger, think its a mental thing... anyway had actually had brought in my lunch, forgetting that Al mentioned on Tuesday that today was the .39 burger day, but took a pass on the turkey and letti for some cheap burgers. Speaking of Tuesday, went and saw Changing Lanes at the Dolla Theatre. Place was jammed. Quick observation though, I think I was one of the only white males under 50 there. Place was packed with older white and Asian people. Not exactly sure why, but that's how it was. Movie overall was pretty decent, a few good action scenes with Sam but nothing spectacular. Average acting, some over acting by everyone involved. Some unintentional comedic moments and some intentional comedic moments, but not a lot overall. It seemed like it was one of those movies that could just end at anytime after the first hour and you would be satisfied, but instead you had to sit there the full 99 minutes. By the end of the movie you were just hoping that Sam was going to get a hold of Ben and just kick his ass, but no such luck, we didnt get to see the bad-ass Sam instead we get the mellowed out Sam. But for a buck who can argue.

Over the last couple days I have been helping a close friend deal with some life altering experiences. Just listening to what is happening it makes me realize that some people are blessed with great families or great friends and sometimes there are lucky people out there that have both. So if you are one of those people that do have both, take it as a blessing and don't take it for granted, because there will be a time in your life when you need one or the other or sometimes even both...

On that note, time to get back to work... have a great day everyone!

Two days in a row with an update! Wow! Nothing really to exciting going on just wanted to put up a few comments.

- Isn't it nice to get up in the morning for work and not be woken up by an alarm but instead just waking up on your own... for those who don't know... it is great!

- Been in a pretty good mood the last couple of days, and that is even knowing I got a full week of damn work ahead of me, think its from the good weekend.

- For those wondering what happened to the mouse from yesterdays update, I say this because a few people have asked me alreay... but no, it is no longer with us, hopefully it has gone to a better place... field mouse heaven.

- Going to go see "Changing Lanes" at the dolla theatre tonite... that is the plan at least. Will have a review tomorrow if the plans stick.

- July 9th and not even notice that summer is half-way over. Damn I remember as a kid hating after July 4th, because you knew the summer was coming to an end. Now its like... who cares, bring on the cooler temps and football season!

- "...bartender please... fill my glass for me... with the wine you gave Jesus that set him free after three days in the ground... bartender please... fill my glass for me..."

- Starting to get my shit ready for my move in a couple of weeks, so if anyone wants a couch or recliner or a desk let me know. Or they will be in a dumpster on July 27th behind my place, first come first serve.

Monday morning like a lot of people today, it was very hard to get up and go to work. After a looooong 4-day weekend, we come back to normality. Had a great weekend though... started Wednesday evening by going to Harrys with Ken and some of his friends. Was supposed to hit the Taste but decided against it. Kinda glad I did, from what I heard it was hot and crowded. So instead went and drank and drank and drank and played some cards. Highlight of the night, after Harrys stopped at White Castle for a couple double cheeseburgers and then back to Kens for some cards. For some reason someone came up with idea to do shots while playing... oh wait that was me. So as we played "Hearts", whoever ended up with the Queen of spades had to take a shot of Knob Creek... not good times. Ken ended up getting the brunt of it. The next morning I get a phone call asking what exactly happened because he couldnt remember... good times! Thursday after about 3 hours of sleep played some golf, did pretty good, had a little hangover so that affected it a little. Went to my step-bro Steves for a 4th picnic. Pretty good time, lots of food and beverages. Saw some fireworks, kinda lame though, didnt have any music going with them... no music = lame fireworks! Friday played more golf. Broke a hundo for the first time playing 18 gotta be proud of that. Was hitting consistent, actually was driving like 200 225 straight. Highlight of the round, my sister asking my grandpa if he had swass, and he said yeah and kept talking about the rest of the round. Found out later on the weekend its swazz not swass. Friday night headed up to Kevins for a little pre-dells get together. Pretty calm get together, had some drinks and laughs. Made it back to Orland about 3 or so. Saturday was pretty calm during the day, went out Saturday and shot some stick and got a few drinks. STORY OF THE WEEKEND: After getting back from pool, was sitting outside doin some late night grilln. Heard what we thought was a cricket, made no big deal about it. A minute or so later felt something on my leg, no not over my jeans... inside my jeans. Oh shit the cricket went up my pants. Tried doin the ol' leg shake to get it out, didnt see anything, so decided to go to the bathroom and look a little closer. Dropped my jeans to my knees and did the shake again... something crawls out...a cricket... no... it was a damn mouse! OH SHITTTTTT!!!! What the F???? Was in shock, didn't know what to do, just stood there as it took off. After tryn to catch it and couldnt just figured it is gone. Jumped in the shower for a quick cleansing, from that point on, now every time I feel something on my leg or arm I'm freaking out. Not good times... but a good story. Sunday had a 12" softball game, was hurting from the late night. Played ok but nothn great. Chilled in Orland for a while before heading back to Evanston. So it was an action packed weekend, glad to be back at work so I can rest up for next weekend... at the Dells.

Can't ask for anything better than a 3 day week followed by a holiday four day weekend. And starting with the summer favorite fourth of July. Gotta slow weekend planned after the high profile weekend last week. Play some golf and just chill. Going get my oil changed and see how much my "hill jumping" incident is going to cost me. Might get some fog lights installed so its not all bad. To celebrate the 4th just going to do some summer ramblings...

- The baseball season has been good for most but not the cubbies. Sosa has been battered with roid questions. I personally dont think hes on them, unlike Bonds and Big Mac, Sosa hasn't had many major injuries since he's bulked up.

- Watched the NBA draft last week... damn ws that a tease, all hyped up now for NBA to start again.

- "... tonight lets be lovers... it's ok, tonight lets be lovers... ohhh way your smile... have a glass of wine... ohhh... I'm so high I can't even see the ground... ohhh when your touching..."

- Went and got gas on my lunch and noticed I had bird shit on the front hood and the back. The back wasnt too bad, just some random white spots, front had some big ass purple crap on it... damn shit on me!

- Is there a better summer jam than "Summertime" by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fesh Prince? I think not!

- 2nd time writing this... computer crashed... damn I had written alot and now can't remember it all. F!

- Tomorrow should be one of the best 4th's in a long time... U.S. pride all over the place.

- Just got a huge box fed-ex from another office labeled from Godiva. Damn thiinking the thing is packed with candy... open it up... two ice packs and two small boxes of candy w/ like 10 pieces in each one. Better thena nothing right?

- Evanston I guess has a huge 4th of July parade. Starting last week, people have been setting up chairs down Central. Pretty funny to see 4 chairs on the side of the road with rope around them.

Guess thats it for now... short week, short update... I leave you with another pic from the sox game this past Sunday.

Have a good 4th and stay safe...

World Cup Report: Brazil comes out with the big win, no real surprise there. Its their 5th world cup title. Which doesnt sound like a whole lot, but when you win something 5 times and its only played every 4 years, that is a big deal! Damn Ronaldo kicked some serious ass. They are comparing him to Pele now. Damn thats like comparing some NBA dude to Mike and Magic combined. If someone gave me a choice to have the skills of Mike or Pele I would pick Pele without a question!!! So congrats to the new Pele and his fd up hairdo. That kid is crazy.

What a weekend dont even know where to start, guess Friday would be the easiest way to go about this. Ended work on a crappy note after the Cubs game but soon after that picked up a bit. Talked to Ken and made some plans to head to Wrigleyville/Lincoln park area. Got to his buddy Mikes place about 10 or so and started the festivities of drinking. Grabbed a cab to Good Bar. Pretty decent place in Lincoln Park, a bar split, front area tables and standing, back area tables and a semi dance floor area. Did our fair share of drinking and headed to another bar down the street, dont remember the name and doesnt matter. Same thing really, more drinking. After a few hours there Ken and his buddy Joe decided to take off for home, crappy thing is though Ken wanted to stay out but since he drove w/Joe he had to take off. So now its just myself and Mikes roommate Zail, we deiced to hit a couple more bars before they close. Hit Hy Bar across the street form his place This place is dead anyway. Take a short cab ride to another bar/dance club till 2. Nothing too exciting. Now the big question of the night, do we crash or hit Déjà vu, which is open till 4. After a little discussion, grab a cab and off to Deja. Good call, place was pretty packed, did some dancing, some conversation with the bathroom attendant which is just pure high comedy. Nothing like talkn with some bum in a bathroom at 3 am while your drunk.
After cooling off and getting bored by his comedy attempts, headed downstairs moved my way to the dance floor and made some eye contact with a girl dancing, made my way over and started dancing with her. After a few songs started up some conversation, asked her for her number and she says "Like you are actually going to call." Now personally, if I ask for a number, I am probably going to call. Not sure why someone would ask for a number and not call, but I guess they have there reasons. Anyway, after some convincing that I would call, she gives it to me. Grab a drink and convince Zail its time to head home. On the cab ride home make a drunk call to Ken to give him the rundown of the night and check the number I just got oh shit whats this its not in my cell what the f? Damn, forgot to hit save on my good ol celly cell. Guess if it was meant to be I would of saved it. My bad
Saturday played some drunk softball highlight of the game, end up doin a superman off of 1st base and land about 5 feet down the line. Hit the bag a little too hard and slipped out from under me not good times. And the bad part is that I was called out. Ended losing also. SUCKED!
Saturday night met up with Al and some of his friends at Transit. Positive for the night, Kerry let me crash at her place, which is like 2 minutes from Transit ...NICE! Pretty slow night at Transit, lot of drinking and dancing. Got to party in the VIP room since Kim is a regular there, gotta give a congrats to her for her graduation. Highlight of the night a group of us are on the dance floor, they are blasting some recent hits and all of a sudden they bust out "I Wish" by skee-lo. Now this song is like 7 years old. I remember buying the single at Lincoln Mall. Not the smartest purchase of my life. But as soon as we hear that gay ass intro, Al and I just give the same look like "What and the hell is this?" and just pause till its over. Not goods times. Stay there till like 4 or so and get dropped off and crash.
Sunday get up surprisingly hangover free NICE! Head to the cubs/white sox game. Damn hot as HELL out. Sum it up quickly cubs play like a real ball club; sox play like a little league team. Get some decent pics at the game, well not really cause aint nothn to take a pic of at Comisky because the park sucks except for some cute ladies but not gonna post those because I think that is illegal or something. Leave the game in the 8th with the game in hand 8 zip! Very Nice! After a quick nap, head over to Als for a nice BBQ with some friends. Some chicken wings and porch chops and then home.

Overall had a very busy weekend, got to see a lot of my friends and family good times good times!
